Marcus Garvey is a community on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa. It is sandwiched between two of the poorest and oldest informal settlements, Khayalitsha and Phillipi. The community is made up of Rastafarians living a life true to the teachings of Hailie Sellasie and growing their own Marijuana. They’ve been living this peaceful way for decades on the brink of poverty, creating a safe place for their families to grow.
This body of work was exhibited at the Cape of Good Hope Castle in 2010.
