In May

All these photographs were made in May of 2018. I used a Nikon F2, with a 28mm Nikkor lens and Kodak Portra 160.

I found myself wandering the parks around my neighbourhood, often with my then 8 month old son Olin, who was mostly strapped to me in his carrier.

My friend and collaborator Trippe Davis put the challenge to me to spend a month using one camera, lens and film type.

This is the result of that time. I find myself attracted to the same themes as I have been in the past.

How do we live in public?
What do communal spaces mean to us? Who are we together?
Where are we able to go to be in public? Why does being together as a society matter?
