Padraic O'Meara — Portfolio Update Guide

## Still page

### Change the randomized overview images

1. In Squarespace, open Pages → still → Edit.

2. Open the native source gallery on the Still landing page.

3. Add, replace, or remove images using the normal Squarespace gallery editor.

4. Save the page.

The public overview automatically reads every image in that native gallery. It shows 32 random images on the page, while the lightbox can move through the full collection. New images require no code changes.

### Update an individual project

1. In Pages → still, open the project, such as Commercial, Portraits, or The River Wide.

2. Click Edit and update its native Squarespace gallery.

3. Save or publish the project.

The project’s tab thumbnail automatically chooses a random image from that project each time the Still page loads. Its featured image remains the fallback.

### Add a new project and choose its group

1. In Pages → still, click + and add a blank project.

2. Add the title, a featured image, and its native gallery content.

3. Publish it.

4. Drag it in the project list:

- Above — PERSONAL WORK BELOW — for the Commercial/Portrait group.

- Below — PERSONAL WORK BELOW — for the personal-project group.

Keep — PERSONAL WORK BELOW — published. It is intentionally empty and automatically hidden from visitors.

## Motion page

The autoplay portfolio uses optimized videos hosted in Cloudflare R2 rather than Squarespace video storage.

### Replace an existing video

1. Prepare two MP4 files with the same filename as the existing video:

- A small muted-loop version for `fall-2026/autoplay/`.

- A medium-quality version with sound for `fall-2026/popup/`.

2. In Cloudflare R2, open the `law-of-creative-physics-videos` bucket.

3. Replace the matching file in both folders without changing its filename.

Because the public addresses stay the same, the Squarespace page does not need to be edited.

### Add or remove a video

Adding or removing a video changes the portfolio’s list, so it requires three coordinated updates:

1. Create or remove both the autoplay and popup MP4 versions in Cloudflare R2.

2. Update the Motion page’s embedded portfolio list in Squarespace.

3. Add or remove its title and popup description in that same list.

For now, this is the one update best handled with assistance, because the Motion portfolio is a custom layout rather than a native Squarespace gallery. The lower, in-depth Motion projects remain ordinary Squarespace portfolio projects and can be edited normally.

## Safety rules

- Keep one clearly named current backup for Still, Motion, Portraits, and About.

- Use the working/test Motion page for experiments before changing the live page.

- Never delete or unpublish — PERSONAL WORK BELOW —.

- Never delete the native Still source gallery; it feeds the randomized overview and full slideshow.
